Half the pressure, twice the speed
Collective: 5th Ed. Residency Can Serrat, El Bruc, Spain 08/2023
The fifth instalment of the Edition Residencies took place at Can Serrat, a Catalan
farmhouse located in El Bruc (Montserrat),
45km outside of Barcelona. One of the oldest international residency programmes in
Catalonia, it has welcomed artistic and literary projects since 1989.
At Can Serrat, we created a new reading space through a process of reorganising and
cataloguing to make the library more accessible for research. To reflect the
evolving nature of Can Serrat's artist residency programme, we
created a modular group of objects made from plaster and board. The objects
serve as tools to navigate the library. Through the mix of sculptural and purposeful
objects we integrated the possibility
of evolving displays.
The Edition Residencies is an interdisciplinary arts collective established in 2017
and consisting of Caitlin Akers, Lena Wurz, Nora Schmel and Klara Vith.
